 Colchester Teacher Training Consortium

Welcome

Technology Teacher
Welcome to the Colchester Teacher Training Consortium, a strong partnership of 14 secondary schools and colleges in the Colchester area with a number of distinctive features that contribute to diversity and choice for trainees. The mix of partner schools is varied: the Consortium can offer trainees a teaching experience in a mixed comprehensive, an 11-18 school, an 11-16 school, a Roman Catholic school, a grammar school and a Sixth form college. The range of subject specialisms and awards to be found within the Consortium is exceptional. In short Colchester TTC has friendly well equipped schools that offer a wide range of educational experiences and understand the needs of initial teacher training.
Colchester TTC is fully committed to the ideals and principles of school-centred initial teacher training and employment based initial teacher training and has the personnel, resources and the will to make teacher training in Colchester schools a success. The main goal of Colchester TTC is to provide the very best initial teacher training opportunities possible for our trainees. We endeavour to ensure this through celebrating the diversity of the consortium and promoting interdependence, providing high quality professional development for personnel in schools and developing a culture of professional self-evaluation. We also have close links with the University of Greenwich (our PGCE is validated by Greenwich) and the Training and Development Agency (TDA).
